In April/May 2003 I went to China for the second time. Although I visited some places in 2000, most of the
places would have been new to me. But unfortunately the vacation did not go as planned due to the SARS outbreak.
The time on the countryside was cut short. We had to leave there as soon as possible. For us that meant we
had to go to Shanghai a week early. From this time on, our temperature was checked a lot. Also the number of
SARS-forms we had to fill out rose strongly.

Even though the part of the journey I looked forward to the most was not visited, I did see a part of China I would
otherwise never have visited.
